For and Against Essay
Nowadays people still discuss whether roles as men and women start when we are born and whether there will always be male and female jobs in any society. This problem is important because it is connected with equality, traditions and people’s opportunities in life.
On the one hand, some people think that certain jobs are more suitable for men or women. They believe that men are often more aggressive, dominant and rational, while women are more emotional, passive and subordinate. According to this view, society has stereotypes in mind, and these ideas continue from the past. As a result, many people think that some professions are naturally better for one gender than for the other.
On the other hand, modern society shows that men and women can be equal in most spheres of life. People should be judged by their abilities, not by their gender. Women can be good at doing a prestigious job, and men can also work in professions that require care and patience. In many cases, men and women understand better each other when they work together and share responsibilities.
To sum up, I believe that although old stereotypes still exist, there should not be strictly male or female jobs. Everyone should have the right to choose any profession if he or she has the necessary skills and wants to do it well.
