Laura and Sandra had always been good friends, so I was very happy when Sandra invited Allan and me to a picnic the next weekend. Allan and I had fallen in love at Sandra’s birthday party, and I thought Sandra was happy for us too. But when we arrived, I noticed that Sandra was acting strangely. She was quiet and looked upset. Soon I understood that she also fancied Allan and was not pleased to see us together. I felt sorry for her, because I did not want to lose my best friend. I hoped that Sandra would understand that friendship was more important than a boy, and that we could all stay friends.
