• It gives people a chance to study heredity and development better.

Group B — against cloning:

• Cloning raises serious moral and ethical problems.
• Clones may have health problems and shorter lives.
• It can be dangerous if people try to use cloning for selfish purposes.
• Every person should be unique, not copied.
• Cloning may create social and legal problems.

Possible answers to the questions:

1. I think humans should not be allowed to be cloned, because it is unsafe and unethical.
2. Cloning can help medicine, science, and endangered animals.
3. Its negative aspects are health risks, ethical problems, and possible misuse.
4. My country’s policy on cloning is that human cloning is not allowed.
5. No, I would not like to clone myself or anyone else.
6. If I could clone someone famous, I would clone Albert Einstein, because he was a genius and could contribute a lot to science.

Sample debate conclusion: Cloning has some useful applications, but the risks and ethical problems are too serious. That is why human cloning should be strictly controlled or banned.
