If I could choose, I would live in a big modern city.
What is your opinion?
Why do many people choose big cities but some try to escape to the country?
Write up to 200 words. Use the following plan:
1 Make an introduction (state the problem).
2 Express your personal opinion and give 2—3 reasons for your opinion.
3 Express an opposing opinion and give 1—2 reasons for this opposing opinion.
4 Explain why you don’t agree with the opposing opinion.
5 Make a conclusion restating your position.

Nowadays many people have to decide where they would like to live: in a big modern city or in the countryside. This choice is important because it influences our lifestyle, work and free time.

In my opinion, a big city is a better place to live. First, there are more job and study opportunities there. Second, cities usually offer better transport, medical care and entertainment. Finally, life in a city is more dynamic, so it is easier to meet new people and develop yourself.

However, some people prefer the country. They say that life there is quieter, cleaner and less stressful. In addition, the air is fresher and there is less noise and traffic.

I do not fully agree with this opinion. Although country life has its advantages, it can be boring for active people. Also, there are fewer schools, hospitals and cultural places in villages than in cities.

To sum up, I would choose a big modern city because it gives more chances for education, work and personal growth.
