It’s more important to understand each other than to be grammatically correct.

2 Express your personal opinion and give 2—3 reasons for your opinion.

In my opinion, it is important to understand each other, but grammatical correctness should not be ignored. I partly agree with the statement because communication is the main purpose of language.

First of all, if people can express their ideas clearly, they can usually understand one another even when they make some grammar mistakes. In everyday life, especially in spoken communication, fluency and confidence are often more important than perfect grammar. Secondly, language is a tool for sharing thoughts, feelings and information. If the message is clear, communication is successful. Finally, many people learn English as a foreign language, so mistakes are natural and should not stop them from speaking.

However, some people think that grammar is more important. They believe that correct grammar makes speech and writing more accurate and professional. It also helps avoid misunderstandings, especially in formal situations such as exams, business letters or official documents.

I do not fully agree with this opinion. Although grammar is necessary, it should not become a barrier to communication. A person may speak with mistakes, but still be understood. At the same time, good grammar can be improved with practice, so it is not more important than the ability to communicate.

To sum up, I believe that understanding each other is more important than being grammatically perfect, but both skills are valuable.
