Some people think that hobbies are unnecessary and having fun is just a waste of time. Others believe that hobbies help us relax and make our life better. What is your opinion? Write 200—250 words. Use the following plan:
1 Make an introduction (state the problem).
2 Express your personal opinion and give 2—3 reasons.
3 Express an opposing opinion and give 1—2 reasons.
4 Explain why you don’t agree with the opposing opinion.
5 Make a conclusion restating your position.

Nowadays many people are interested in different hobbies, while others think that hobbies are unnecessary and that having fun is just a waste of time. In my opinion, hobbies are very important because they make our life richer and more balanced.
First of all, hobbies help us relax after school or work. When a person is tired or stressed, doing something enjoyable can improve mood and give new energy. Secondly, hobbies often develop useful skills. For example, reading, drawing, playing a musical instrument or doing sports can teach us patience, creativity and discipline. Finally, hobbies help people find friends with similar interests, so they make social life better too.
However, some people believe that hobbies take too much time and do not bring any real benefit. They think that it is better to spend all free time on study or work in order to be successful.
I do not agree with this opinion. Of course, study and work are important, but a person also needs rest. Without hobbies, life becomes boring and stressful. In addition, a good hobby can even help us study or work better because it teaches us to organize our time and stay motivated.
To sum up, I strongly believe that hobbies are not a waste of time. They help us relax, develop our personality and make our life more interesting.
