Simon:
I’m convinced that nothing can replace face-to-face interaction with teachers and peers. You may see your teacher on video but you can’t raise your hand and get immediate feedback or lean over to your classmate and ask a question. Moreover, in a traditional classroom you develop lifelong friendships, memories and experiences.
Ann:
Personally, I hope that e-classroom will become a place where every student feels comfortable about interacting with others. There won’t be typical discrimination and bullying which are found in almost every class. And the teacher and the student will be on the same level.
Hamish:
It’s a great idea but you should be aware that online education uses a really advanced technology. You won’t be able to use it effectively unless you have convenient access to the Internet and good knowledge of computers. Those who live in remote places may not be up to it.
Karen:
What I like about this way of learning is that you can study at your own pace. Also you can choose where and when to do it and it doesn’t matter where you live. You don’t have to travel to your school or college every day which makes e-learning more eco-friendly.
Tony:
My concern is that students must be self-disciplined and well-organised to get education online. For me, unfortunately, it’s not true. I need to know that I have classes for the same time each week on certain days. It helps me keep on track.
1. Some people won’t be able to use it because they have old computers.
2. This way of learning makes teachers and students feel equal.
3. Some students might find it difficult to organise their own learning.
4. Online education is a very bad substitute for classroom interaction.
5. Most students are interested in this new way of learning.
6. It has been found that e-learning consumes 90% less energy than traditional courses.
