Задача
Read the three main laws of mechanics. Match the scientific wording for each law, its main formulas (if they exist) and the explanation that’s easiest to understand.
Scientific wording
- Newton’s First Law
Any object in a state of invariable motion remains in that state of motion unless a new unbalanced force is applied to it. - Newton’s Second Law
The acceleration of a moving object is directly proportional to the value of the net force acting on the object and is inversely proportional to its mass. The vector of the acceleration coincides with the vector of the net force. - Newton’s Third Law
For every external force that acts on an object there is a force of equal value but in an opposite direction which acts back on the object that exerted the external force.
- For every action there is an equal and opposite reaction.
- If you push something, you get pushed back equally hard.
- The greater force we apply to the object, the greater acceleration it gets.
- If not touched, the object keeps moving in a straight line or remains at rest until a new external force starts acting on it.
Подробный ответ
1 — Newton’s First Law: If not touched, the object keeps moving in a straight line or remains at rest until a new external force starts acting on it.
2 — Newton’s Second Law: The greater force we apply to the object, the greater acceleration it gets.
3 — Newton’s Third Law: If you push something, you get pushed back equally hard.
Main formulas:
- First law: F = 0 (if the resultant force is zero, the body keeps its state of rest or uniform motion).
- Second law: a = F/m or F = ma.
- Third law: F1 = -F2.
