In my opinion, both professional and personal qualities are important for a successful career, but personal qualities are often more important because they help a person work well with others and overcome difficulties.

• initiative
• flexibility
• persistence

Yes, the qualities do depend on the nature of the profession. For example, a doctor needs patience and responsibility, while a designer needs creativity and imagination. However, some qualities, such as hard work and responsibility, are useful in almost any profession.
