Work in groups of 3–4. Draw a picture of an ideal teenage citizen. Consider these characteristics:
- which languages he / she speaks;
- his / her attitude towards globalisation;
- certain rights and responsibilities;
- his / her attitude to politics;
- his / her contribution to school life;
- his / her lifestyle (for example, how “green” it is) and his / her social behaviour.
Prepare a presentation of the ideal teenage citizen.
An ideal teenage citizen is a responsible and active young person. He speaks Russian and English, and maybe one more foreign language, because languages help people communicate and understand each other.
He has a positive attitude towards globalisation. He thinks that people from different countries should cooperate and respect each other’s cultures.
He knows his rights and responsibilities. He respects other people’s rights, follows school rules and helps to keep order in society.
He is interested in politics and knows what is happening in his country and in the world. He understands that young people should take part in public life and express their opinion in a polite way.
At school he is active and helpful. He takes part in school events, helps classmates and supports different projects.
His lifestyle is healthy and green. He saves water and electricity, does not litter, uses public transport or walks when possible, and cares about nature.
He behaves politely and kindly. He is friendly, honest, tolerant and ready to help other people. Such a teenager is a good example for others.
