Lev Davidovich Landau was one of the most famous Russian physicists of the 20th century. He was born in 1908 in Baku. Landau made a great contribution to theoretical physics and worked in many fields, including quantum mechanics, superconductivity and fluid dynamics.
He was a brilliant scientist and teacher. Many students admired him for his deep knowledge and original ideas. In 1962, Landau received the Nobel Prize in Physics for his theory of superfluidity.
Landau is remembered as one of the greatest physicists in Russia and in the world. His scientific work is still very important today.
