Roles as men and women start when we are born and there will always be male and female jobs in any society.
What is your opinion? Do you agree with this statement? Write 200—250 words.
Use the following plan:
1 Make an introduction (state the problem).
2 Express your personal opinion and give 2—3 reasons for your opinion.
3 Express an opposing opinion and give 1—2 reasons for this opposing opinion.
4 Explain why you don’t agree with the opposing opinion.
5 Make a conclusion restating your position.
In modern society, people often discuss whether men and women should have different roles and jobs. Some believe that these roles are natural and will always exist, while others think that gender should not matter at all. I do not agree with the statement that there will always be male and female jobs in any society.
In my opinion, a person’s abilities, interests and education are much more important than gender. First, both men and women can be equally successful in most professions if they have the necessary skills and experience. Second, society becomes stronger when everyone has the freedom to choose any career they want. Finally, dividing jobs into “male” and “female” often leads to unfair stereotypes and limits people’s opportunities.
However, some people think that certain jobs are better suited to men or women because of physical strength or traditional family roles. They also believe that such division helps society stay stable and organized.
I cannot agree with this opinion. Although some professions may require more physical power, this does not mean that only men can do them. Modern technology and training make many difficult jobs accessible to everyone. As for traditional roles, they should not prevent people from following their own talents and dreams.
To conclude, I strongly believe that gender should not define a person’s role in society. Men and women should have equal rights and equal chances to choose any job they are capable of doing.
