1. Make a list of 5–6 jobs. In pairs compare your lists and put all the jobs in order from the most to the least popular. Explain your choices.

Here is one possible list and order:

1. teacher
2. doctor
3. police officer
4. shop assistant
5. driver
6. farmer

I think teacher is the most popular job because many people want to work with children and help them learn. Doctor is also very popular because it is an important and respected profession. Police officer is chosen by many people who want to protect others. Shop assistant and driver are common jobs, but they are usually less popular than the first three. Farmer is often the least popular because it is hard work and depends on the weather.
