In my opinion, it is important to understand each other, but grammatical correctness should not be ignored. I partly agree with the statement because communication is the main purpose of language.
First of all, if people can explain their ideas clearly, they can usually solve problems and share information even when they make some grammar mistakes. Second, in everyday life, especially in spoken communication, native speakers often do not speak perfectly, but they still understand one another. Finally, being too worried about grammar can make people nervous and stop them from speaking at all.
However, some people think that grammar is more important. They believe that correct grammar makes speech and writing clearer and helps avoid misunderstandings. They also say that good grammar shows education and respect for the listener or reader.
I do not fully agree with this opinion. Of course, grammar is necessary, but if a person cannot express thoughts at all, correct grammar will not help much. It is better to make a few mistakes and be understood than to speak perfectly but say nothing useful.
To sum up, I think that understanding each other is more important than being grammatically correct, but both are valuable. The best communication happens when people can express their ideas clearly and also try to speak correctly.
