Love-and-friendship story
Laura and Sandra are good friends. Allan is Sandra’s classmate. Laura and Allan lock eyes at Sandra’s birthday party. They instantly fall in love.
Sandra is happy for Laura and Allan and enjoys being a friend to both of them. She invites them to a picnic the next weekend.
Sandra is far from being thrilled when she realises that her best friend Laura has probably found someone who’s more important to her than she.
Laura invites Sandra and Allan to a picnic the next weekend.
Sandra fancies Allan herself and is determined to win him.
Allan invites both girls to a picnic the next weekend.
One possible narration from Sandra’s point of view:
Laura and I have been best friends for years, so I was really happy when I invited her and Allan to a picnic the next weekend. Allan is my classmate, and I had already noticed that Laura liked him. At first, I thought it was sweet that they had fallen in love at my birthday party. I was glad for both of them and wanted to be a good friend.
But later I began to feel upset. I realised that Laura might have found someone more important to her than me. I tried not to show my feelings, but it was hard. I still wanted to stay close to Laura, yet I also felt jealous and lonely.
