- When poverty comes in through the door, love flies out the window.
Love me, love my dog. This means that if you love a person, you should accept everything that belongs to them, including their habits, friends or even pets. I agree with this saying. In Russian, a similar proverb is: Любишь меня — люби и мою собаку.
Opposites attract. This means that people with different characters or interests are often drawn to each other. I partly agree with it, because differences can make relationships more interesting. A similar Russian saying is: Противоположности притягиваются.
Absence makes the heart grow fonder. This means that when people are apart, they often miss each other more and value their relationship more. I agree with this saying. In Russian, a similar proverb is: С глаз долой — из сердца вон, but its meaning is the opposite, so there is no exact equivalent.
When poverty comes in through the door, love flies out the window. This means that money problems can destroy love and harmony in a family. I agree that financial difficulties often cause stress in relationships. A similar Russian saying is: Где нужда, там и любовь не живёт.
