Space exploration has gone a very long way since ancient times. At first, people only observed the sky with the naked eye, but now we have artificial satellites, space stations, GPS, GLONASS and many other technologies.
It has a great impact on our everyday life. Thanks to space exploration, we can use navigation in cars, ships, airplanes and for hiking. It also helps in medical advances, new materials, weather forecasting, means of communication and entertainment.
For example, artificial satellites are used in satellite TV, satellite scanning systems and cordless monitoring systems. Space research has also led to lightweight and fireproof materials, artificial limbs, infrared thermometers, robotic surgery, scratch-resistant lenses, flat-screen televisions, smoke detectors and water purification systems.
