As indisputable advantages of the city, I would mention a wide choice of jobs, good transport, and many places for entertainment, shopping, and education. In most cases the countryside cannot offer the same, but it can provide fresh air, peace, quiet, and beautiful nature.
The worst thing about living in the city is noise, pollution, traffic jams, and the constant rush. In the country I would hate being far from shops, schools, hospitals, and other necessary facilities.
The most reasonable thing, in my opinion, is to create a new type of settlement which could combine the main benefits of both, i.e. the comfort and opportunities of the city and the clean air and calm atmosphere of the countryside, and would get rid of the drawbacks of both.
