Some people say that they definitely prefer written exams. Others insist that only oral examination can give a student an opportunity to demonstrate how smart and creative he or she is. Both sides have their points. Speaking for myself, I prefer written exams because they are usually more objective and fair. In a written exam, I have time to think, organise my ideas and check my answers. Besides, I feel less nervous when I write than when I speak in front of the examiner. However, oral exams are also useful because they show how well a student can speak and react quickly. So, both types of exams have advantages, but I would choose written exams.
