Studying foreign languages can really change a person’s life. In my opinion, learning a foreign language is one of the most useful skills a person can have today.
First of all, it helps people communicate with others from different countries. When you know a foreign language, you can travel more easily, make new friends and understand other cultures better. Secondly, it gives you more opportunities for education and work. Many universities and companies prefer people who speak at least one foreign language. Finally, learning languages develops memory, attention and thinking skills.
However, some people believe that foreign languages are not so important. They think that modern translation apps can help in any situation, so there is no need to spend time studying languages. Others say that it is difficult and takes too much effort.
I do not agree with this opinion. Translation apps cannot replace real communication, because they are not always accurate. Besides, learning a language is not only about words and grammar. It also helps a person become more confident and independent.
To sum up, I strongly believe that studying foreign languages can change one’s life for the better. It opens many doors and makes a person more educated, successful and open-minded.
