People’s lives have changed a lot because of modern devices.

People didn’t use to have a telephone 100 years ago. They used to have a letter in an envelope instead.

People didn’t use to have a refrigerator with ice 100 years ago. They used to have a big piece of ice instead.

People didn’t use to have a computer 100 years ago. They used to have a typewriter instead.

Now they use these modern devices. It’s much more convenient, fast and economical, but sometimes it’s less natural and pleasant.
