You have received a letter from your English-speaking friend Peter who writes:
At school we are making presentations on festivals in different countries. Could you tell me what festivals are most popular in Russia? Which of them are especially popular in your region and where can I get more information about them? As for my school news we are planning our school-leaving ceremony…
Write a letter to Peter. In your letter:
- answer Peter’s questions,
- ask him three questions about his school-leaving ceremony.
Write 100—140 words. Remember the rules of letter writing.
Dear Peter,
Thanks for your letter. I’m glad to answer your questions.
In Russia the most popular festivals are New Year, Victory Day, Maslenitsa and Easter. In my region, Maslenitsa is especially popular because people like its bright traditions, songs and pancakes. You can find more information about Russian festivals on the Internet, in travel guides and on local cultural websites.
As for your school-leaving ceremony, I’d like to ask you a few questions. When will it take place? Where will it be held? Are you going to have a party after the ceremony?
Write back soon.
Best wishes,
Anna
