Cloning is one of the most controversial scientific achievements of our time. Some people believe that it can bring great benefits to medicine and agriculture, while others think that it is dangerous and morally unacceptable. In my opinion, human cloning should not be allowed.
First of all, cloning creates many ethical problems. A cloned person would not be treated as a unique individual, and this may lead to serious psychological and social difficulties. Besides, scientists cannot guarantee that a cloned human being will be completely healthy. There is always a risk of genetic defects and unexpected consequences.
Supporters of cloning say that it can help to save lives. For example, cloned organs could be used for transplantation, and endangered animals could be reproduced. I agree that these possibilities are useful, but I do not think they justify cloning human beings. Medical progress should be based on safer and more responsible methods.
To sum up, cloning may be helpful in some areas of science, but human cloning is too risky and raises too many moral questions. That is why I am strongly against it.
