Work in pairs / groups. Draw a picture of an ideal high school student by following these steps.

a) First, think of all of his / her rights and responsibilities.

b) Then make a description of his / her day from start to finish.

c) Create a poster to illustrate your ideas.

d) Finally, present the poster to the class.

An ideal high school student should have both rights and responsibilities. He or she has the right to study in a safe and friendly school, to be respected by teachers and classmates, and to express his or her opinion. At the same time, an ideal student should attend lessons regularly, do homework on time, be polite, help others, and respect school rules.

His or her day may start early in the morning. After getting up, the student does morning exercises, has breakfast, gets ready for school and goes to classes. During the school day, he or she listens carefully to teachers, takes notes, asks questions and works hard. After school, the student may do homework, attend a club or sport section, help parents at home and have some free time. In the evening, the student prepares for the next day and goes to bed early.

The poster can show a smart, active and responsible teenager with books, a school bag, a notebook and a timetable. It can also include short slogans like: “Study hard, respect others, and be responsible!”

Presented to the class, this poster will show that an ideal high school student is disciplined, kind, hardworking and well-organized.
