One unusual festival is La Tomatina, which takes place every year in Bunol, Spain, on the last Wednesday of August.
The festival originated from a local street fight in 1945. At first, it was not an official celebration, but later it became a famous annual event.
During the festival, people throw ripe tomatoes at each other for about one hour. It is a very noisy and fun event, and the streets become completely red.
People usually wear old clothes, T-shirts and shorts, because they get very dirty. After the battle, many participants eat local Spanish food and drink water to clean themselves.
La Tomatina is very popular because it is unusual, exciting and brings many tourists to the town every year.
