Denis: Well, I would have applied to college if I knew what I wanted to study.
Dima: And when are you going to find out?
Denis: Maybe if I had a chance to travel the world, meet people, try a few different jobs, I think I’d find out that way.
Dima: So what’s the problem?
Denis: All sorts: visas, money. Besides, I don’t speak English very well.
Dima: Ah! If you’d taken English at school, you’d have been able to fulfill all your dreams.
Denis: You’re probably right. But it’s never too late to improve. I’ll take an English course if I can find something which isn’t too expensive.
Dima: That’s a good idea.
Denis: I’d ask you to help if you had more time, but I know how busy you are.
Dima: I’m afraid you’re right. Actually, though, if I could manage to finish my project next week, I’d be able to take two weeks holiday. I’m not terribly hopeful, but why don’t you phone me anyway?
Denis: Thank you Dima, you’re a good friend! I’ll phone you without fail.
