1. Look at the pictures of the Tower of Babel which were done by two different artists from different times and answer the questions:
   • Which one appeals to you more and why?
   • What might these pictures have to do with language?

The first picture appeals to me more because it looks more dramatic and mysterious. It gives the impression of a huge, unfinished building and a sense of confusion.

These pictures are connected with language because the Tower of Babel is a symbol of the moment when people began to speak different languages and could no longer understand one another.
