The distance at which we start hearing a sound and stop hearing a sound is not the same.

To find the answer in the classroom, we can make a simple experiment: one student stands in one place and makes a sound, while another student slowly moves away until the sound is no longer heard. Then the student moves back until the sound can be heard again. We can compare the two distances and see that they are different.
