1 — Past Simple — we ask when something happened.

2 — Past Simple — we say a definite time, e.g. yesterday, last week, six weeks ago.

3 — Present Perfect — the result of a past action is connected to the present.

4 — Past Simple — the result of a past action is not connected to the present.

5 — Present Perfect — we talk about something which started in the past and continues up to the present.

6 — Past Simple — we talk about something which started and finished in the past.

7 — Present Perfect — we talk about an indefinite time up to the present, e.g. ever, never, recently.
