Mum: Oh hello, Mina. You’re back early.
Mina: Hi, Mum. It’s not early. Look at the time. Mum: Oh goodness, yes. It’s four o’clock already and the dinner isn’t ready.
Mina: Don’t worry. Mum. I’ll give you a hand. You look really exhausted.
Mum: Yes, I haven’t stopped all day.

Boy: I’m so sorry, Mina. I’ll get you another one, I promise.
Mina: You won’t find one like that again. I bought it on holiday and you can’t get them here in England. Haven’t you got any idea where it is?
Boy: Not really. I showed it to my sister, yesterday, because she really likes that kind of thing. But since then I haven’t been able to find it. I’m so sorry.
Mina: Well… never mind.

Mr Harmer: Are you having trouble, Mina?
Mina: Yes, Mr Harmer. I don’t think I really understand what we’re supposed to do.
Mr Harmer: Well, this is a list of things that happened before the First World War.
Mina: Yes, I understood that bit.

Mina: I know, Greg, I’m sad too, and I’m really going to miss him, but he was getting very old.
Greg: He wasn’t that old. He was only ten.
Mina: Well, ten is pretty old for them, Greg. They’re not like humans, you know. Anyway. Mum said we can get another one.
Greg: Well, I don’t want another one. It would never be like Rex.

Dad: What on earth is that on your arm, Mina? I don’t believe it. Sarah! Have you seen what your daughter has been up to?
Mina: Yeah! What’s wrong, Dad, don’t you like the dragon? I nearly got a bird instead. Would you have preferred that?
Dad: This isn’t funny. Mina. In fact, I’m furious. You know that thing will never come off, don’t you? You’re going to regret that for the rest of your life.
