Choose a project you’d like to do.

1) This is a very general title. You can specify it showing the influence of the geographical position of a country on one of the spheres of life, for example:
• People’s activities
• Food
• National (regional) symbols
• Houses around the world
2) Collect information and illustrations.
3) Present your project to the classmates. Answer their questions to explain your ideas. - PROJECT “The Best of All Possible Worlds”
This project may be done in any of the following forms: a leaflet, a poster, a collage, an advertisement, etc.
1) Show the advantages of a place you consider the best of all possible worlds. Illustrate your ideas. Use humour, fantasy and imagination.
2) Tell your classmates why you’d like to live in this place. Answer the questions to explain your ideas. - PROJECT “Welcome to Russia!”
This project may be done in the form of a guide for tourists.
1) Choose a region in your country, describe its geographical peculiarities.
2) Give some tips for foreigners how to cope with weather conditions in this region.
3) Describe the people of this region and their customs.
4) Collect illustrations.
5) Present your project to the classmates. Answer their questions to explain your ideas.

The Influence of Geography on People and Their Lifestyles
Geography has a great influence on people’s lives. Different climates and landscapes affect what people wear, what they eat, how they work and even how they build their houses.
For example, in cold countries people wear warm clothes, eat hot and nourishing food, and build houses that keep the heat inside. In hot countries people usually wear light clothes, drink a lot of water and try to stay in the shade during the hottest part of the day.
Geography also influences people’s activities. In mountain regions people may go skiing or work in tourism, while in coastal areas fishing and sea transport are important. In some places people grow crops, and in others they raise animals.
So, geography is an important part of everyday life. It shapes people’s habits, traditions and lifestyle.
