Differences between the US and British governmental systems:

In Britain, the Prime Minister is a Member of Parliament. In the USA, the President is separate from Congress.
In Britain, the Prime Minister becomes the leader of the party that wins the election. In the USA, the President is elected by the people through the Electoral College.
In Britain, the head of state is the monarch, while in the USA the head of state is the President.
In Britain, Parliament has two Houses: the House of Commons and the House of Lords. In the USA, Congress has two Houses: the House of Representatives and the Senate.
In Britain, the government is formed by the party with the majority in the House of Commons. In the USA, the President forms the government independently of Congress.

My opinion: Both systems are democratic, but they are organized in different ways. The British system is parliamentary, while the US system is presidential.
