1. The three authors suggested these stereotypes:

• Americans are often thought to be open, friendly, optimistic and practical, but sometimes superficial and too self-confident.
• Russians are often thought to be serious, reserved, strong, patient and hospitable, but sometimes gloomy and unfriendly at first sight.
• The British are often thought to be polite, reserved, calm and well-mannered, but sometimes cold, distant and too formal.

2. In my opinion, Americans, Russians and the British are both different and alike. They have different traditions, habits and ways of communication, but they are all people with the same basic feelings, needs and values. Stereotypes show only a small part of the truth.
