What subcultures existed in the times when your parents were teens? Ask your parents. Take notes.

Ask your parents what subcultures existed when they were teens and take notes. For example, you can write:

• Parents’ teens: punk, hippie, rocker, disco, metalhead.
• Notes: what they wore, what music they listened to, how they behaved, what was popular.

Sample answer: My parents said that when they were teens, punk and disco were popular. Punks wore bright clothes, leather jackets and unusual hairstyles. Disco fans liked dancing, shiny clothes and popular dance music.
