1. Yes, I have. I think architecture is a very interesting and important art because it shows the history and culture of a country.

2. In my opinion, architecture was more decorative and impressive in the previous centuries. Old buildings often had beautiful details, while many modern buildings are more practical and simple.

3. I know such styles of architecture as Gothic, Baroque, Classicism, Modernism and Postmodernism. Gothic emerged in Western Europe in the Middle Ages, Baroque in Italy in the 17th century, and Classicism in Europe in the 18th century.

4. To ancient Russian architecture we can refer the Kremlin, St Basil’s Cathedral, the Cathedral of St Sophia in Novgorod and many old churches and monasteries.

5. I think modern architecture in Russia is developing in different ways. There are many interesting and original buildings, but some of them look too cold and impersonal.

6. I live in an apartment building. I would like to live in a comfortable house with a garden, not far from the city centre.

7. In my view, both beauty and functional significance are important for architecture, but a building should first of all be convenient and safe.

8. The main problems of big cities are traffic jams, air pollution, noise, overcrowding and a lack of green areas. They can be solved by improving public transport, building more parks and controlling pollution.

9. I live in a town. The advantages are that it is quiet and not very crowded. The disadvantages are that there are fewer entertainment places and fewer job opportunities than in a big city.
