A. Look at the proverbs and sayings below and explain their meanings.

- e) Time and tide are waiting for no man.
- f) Time is the great healer.
- g) Footprints on the sands of time are not made by sitting down.
B. Remember or make up a short story to illustrate one of the proverbs and sayings above. Tell the story to the class and let them guess which particular proverb or saying you are illustrating.
a) Times change. — Времена меняются, всё со временем становится другим.
b) Busiest men find the most time. — Самые занятые люди умеют лучше всего распоряжаться временем.
c) Other times, other manners. — В разные времена — разные обычаи и правила поведения.
d) Procrastination is the thief of time. — Откладывание дел на потом отнимает время и мешает успевать.
e) Time and tide are waiting for no man. — Время никого не ждёт, нужно действовать вовремя.
f) Time is the great healer. — Время лечит, со временем боль и переживания проходят.
g) Footprints on the sands of time are not made by sitting down. — Чтобы оставить след в жизни, нужно действовать, а не сидеть без дела.
Пример короткой истории: One day Tom kept putting off his homework and playing games instead. In the end, he had no time to finish it properly and got a bad mark. Then he understood that procrastination is the thief of time.
