a) I think people do change in the course of time. Life experience, education, and relationships influence our character and views. Of course, some basic traits may stay the same, but a person usually becomes wiser, more responsible, and more tolerant with age.

b) I would prefer to live in the present time. Modern life gives us many opportunities: better medicine, education, communication, and travel. We can learn about the past and enjoy the advantages of today at the same time.
