In about 50 years big cities will probably become much larger and more crowded. The population will grow, and there will be more high-rise buildings, shopping centres and office blocks. Transport will improve: there may be more underground lines, electric buses and even driverless cars. At the same time, traffic jams will still be a serious problem, especially during rush hours.

Pollution may decrease if people use cleaner transport and new technologies, but it will not disappear completely. Cities will need more parks, trees and green zones to make life healthier and more comfortable. In general, future cities will be modern, busy and technologically advanced, but they will also need careful planning to remain pleasant places to live in.

The most optimistic description is the one that shows future cities as comfortable and highly developed. The most detailed description gives many facts about different aspects of city life. The most realistic description is the one that mentions both progress and problems.
