Dear Clare,
Thanks for your letter. Yes, we do have oral exams at school, but I would prefer a written exam because I feel less nervous and can think more carefully before answering. This year I am going to take English, Maths and History. The most difficult exam for me is Maths, because it requires a lot of practice and concentration.
It was interesting to hear about your bus tour to London. Did you enjoy the trip? What places did you visit? Did you take many photos?
Write back soon.
Best wishes,
Alex

Parents’ love is one of the most important things in a child’s life, but too much of it can really spoil a child. I partly agree with this statement.
On the one hand, loving parents give their children care, support and a feeling of safety. Such children usually grow up confident and emotionally healthy. However, if parents protect a child from every difficulty, the child may become lazy, selfish and unable to make decisions independently.
Some people think that too much love can never be harmful because it shows attention and kindness. They believe that children who are loved a lot are always happier and more successful.
I do not agree with this opinion. Love is important, but it should be balanced with discipline and responsibility. Children need limits, rules and the chance to learn from their own mistakes.
In conclusion, I believe that parents should love their children deeply, but not overprotect them. Real love helps children become strong and independent.
