Semi-detached houses are joined to one other house, while terraced houses are built in a row and share walls with the neighbours.

Many British houses are quite old, so they often have a traditional look. At the same time, they are usually comfortable and practical. A typical house has a living room, a kitchen, bedrooms and a bathroom. Some houses also have a garden, which is very important for many British families.

British people often take pride in their homes and like to decorate them nicely. Even small houses can be cosy and attractive. In general, British houses reflect the country’s history and lifestyle, and they are an important part of British culture.
