Тема 3 Spotlight on Russia ГДЗ Spotlight 11 класс
- How do you feel about reading Dostoyevsky in English? Write a short biography of your favourite Russian author and describe their most successful novel.
My favourite Russian author is Fyodor Dostoyevsky (1821–1881). He was one of the greatest Russian novelists and had a huge influence on world literature. His books are famous for their deep psychological insight and serious moral questions.
His most successful novel is Crime and Punishment (1866). It tells the story of Rodion Raskolnikov, a poor student who believes that some people have the right to break the law for a higher purpose. After committing a murder, he suffers from guilt and fear. In the end, he confesses and begins to change with the help of Sonia.
I think reading Dostoyevsky in English is interesting, but not easy, because his ideas are very deep and his style is quite serious. Still, his novels are worth reading, because they make you think about life, conscience and human nature.
