Russian is the official language of Russia and one of the most widely spoken languages in the world. It is spoken by more than 150 million people in Russia and by millions more in other countries of the former Soviet Union.

There are also many other languages spoken in Russia, such as Tatar, Bashkir, Chechen, Chuvash and Yakut. These languages are used in different regions and are an important part of the country’s cultural heritage.

One interesting fact is that some of these languages have their own alphabets or special sounds. Many people in Russia speak more than one language, especially in national republics and large cities.
