Разбор: Past Simple used for finished actions in the past: happened, stole, did you go, stayed, watched, saw, woke, saw, realised, called. Past Continuous shows an action in progress: was walking, were you running. Past Perfect is used for an action that happened before another past action: had worked, had already left, had been chatting.
