Possible story:

Tess nowadays could be a teenager with a difficult problem at school. She might be bullied by other students and feel lonely and upset. She probably lives in a small town or in a flat in the city with her parents and younger brother. Her family may be kind, but they are very busy and do not always notice that she is unhappy. Tess might go to her mother, her favourite teacher or the school counsellor for help. They could listen to her, support her and help her solve the problem.
