To start with, it was such a long way from the city centre that hardly anyone could find the place. The house itself looked beautiful from the outside, but inside everything seemed to go wrong. First, the music stopped working, so there was an awkward silence. Then the lights went out for a few minutes, and everyone started talking at once. After that, someone dropped a cake on the floor, and the drinks were spilled all over the table.

Things got even worse when it started raining heavily and the guests who had come by car couldn’t leave because the road was flooded. Some people were bored, others were annoyed, and the host looked completely exhausted. By the end of the evening, everyone agreed that it had been a disastrous party.
