9. a Portfolio: In the next section of the story, the winter is over and the Miller goes to visit Hans. Write the dialogue between these two characters. Read out your dialogue to the class.

Hans: Hello, Miller! It’s good to see you again.

Miller: Hello, Hans. I’ve come to thank you for all your help last winter.

Hans: You’re welcome. I was glad to help you.

Miller: I’m sorry I treated you so badly before. I was wrong.

Hans: That’s all right. I’m just happy that everything is fine now.

Miller: Yes, and I wanted to tell you that I’ve learned my lesson.

Hans: I hope so. Let’s forget the past and be friends.

Miller: I’d like that very much. Thank you again, Hans.

Hans: You’re welcome, Miller. Come in and have some tea.
