Подробный ответ

Выполнение

1. Comparing and contrasting the photographs

Both photos show teenagers and the problems they may face. In the first picture, a girl is sitting alone and looks upset, while in the second picture a boy is talking to a woman, probably a psychologist or a teacher, in an office.

The pictures have something in common: they both deal with teen problems and show young people in difficult situations. However, they are different because in the first photo the girl seems to be alone and worried, whereas in the second photo the boy is getting support and advice from an adult.

I would choose the second picture for an informational leaflet about dealing with teen problems. It is more suitable because it shows a positive way of solving problems — by talking to someone and asking for help.

2. Discussing a present for Mother’s Day

A: We need to choose a present for Mum for International Women’s Day. What do you think about buying her jewellery?

B: Jewellery is nice, but it can be quite expensive. Maybe we should choose something simpler.

A: What about a scarf and gloves? They are practical and useful in spring.

B: That’s a good idea, but I think flowers would make her happier. They are beautiful and always a lovely gift.

A: Yes, flowers are a classic present, but they don’t last long. Tickets for the theatre could be a great surprise too.

B: I agree, but I’m not sure Mum would want to go to the theatre. I think flowers are the safest choice.

A: I agree. Let’s buy her a big bouquet of flowers.

B: Great idea!
