1. Comparing and contrasting the photographs

The first photo shows a person reading a newspaper at home, while the second one shows a man reading the news on a tablet in a public place. Both pictures are about reading the news, and in both cases the people are focused on getting information. However, the ways of reading are different: in the first photo the news is printed on paper, and in the second photo it is digital. I prefer reading the news on a tablet because it is more convenient, faster to update, and easier to carry around.

2. Discussing the best way to learn Spanish

I think the best option is to spend a month in Spain living with a Spanish family. It would help us practise the language every day and learn how people really speak. Going to an evening class is also a good idea, because a teacher can explain grammar and correct mistakes. Buying a teach-yourself pack is cheaper and more flexible, but it may be difficult to stay motivated. A private teacher would be useful too, because we could get personal attention and learn at our own pace. Still, I believe immersion in Spain is the most effective way. We would hear Spanish all the time, improve quickly, and also learn about the culture. So, I’d choose the month in Spain. What do you think?
