You have found some interesting material for the presentation and you want to read this text to your friend. You have 1.5 minutes to read the text silently, then be ready to read it out aloud. You will not have more than 1.5 minutes to read it. Your time spent at university should be a happy one. That’s why it’s important to choose the right course and academic institution for you. Three main factors come at the top of the list. Course content is number one. You won’t enjoy your course if the content doesn’t interest you. Review course content closely. Courses with the same title often differ in content. Academic facilities also need checking. A university open day is a chance to inspect its library, IT suites or laboratories. You want to make sure they are up to date and will provide you with the necessary materials you need for your studies. Finally, one main reason people go to university is to get a good job afterwards. Before you choose a place to study, check out its graduate employment rate. This shows how many graduates get employed after their course. Universities post this information on their website. If a university has close links with employers, this will enhance your prospects, too. Choose somewhere that offers placements or internships. It’s an excellent wav of learning work ready skills. I can’t believe we’ve finished school too! To be honest, I feel both excited and a little nervous about it. School was a big part of my life, but I’m looking forward to a new chapter. Next year I’m planning to enter university and study economics.
