They carry water with them up into the air. Hot chocolate comes out of the volcano. The volcano is erupting.

Anna: It’s a beautiful Sunday morning and I am standing on the road about eight kilometres away from the active volcano, Mount St Helens. Everything is quiet. The volcano is like a sleeping monster. Only a cloud of grey steam is coming out of the top. The scientists tell us that the monster is going to wake up and the volcano is going to erupt soon. There are lots of people here. They are looking at the volcano and waiting. Hey! What’s happening? The mountain’s moving! Wow! This is it! There’s a strong wind and a thick black cloud is covering the volcano.
I can’t see anything! Wow! It’s so windy! Now it’s raining! Liquid rock is falling everywhere — no, it isn’t liquid rock, it’s mud, tiny balls of hot mud. Ouch! I must go back to the car. Ash is starting to fall now. I can’t breathe. 1 must run to the car …
